Beerakaya palu posina kura (Ridge gourd curry)

Ingredients:
Ridge gourd - 500 gms
onion - 1 (chopped)
green chillies -2-3 (chopped)
red chilli powder - 1 tsp
salt to taste
turmeric - 1/2 tsp
oil - 2 tsp
milk - 1/2 cup
Seasoning ingredients: urad dal, channa dal, mustard seeds, cumin seeds - 1/4 each and curry leaves


Method:

  • Peel and cut ridge gourd into small pieces
  • Heat oil in kadai add seasoning ingredients and fry till mustard seeds crackles
  • Then add onions, green chillies saute for 2 minutes
  • Add ridge gourd pieces, salt, red chilli, turmeric and cook in slow flame( add little water if needed) till water evaporates 
  • Lastly add milk and cook for another 2 minutes
  • Serve with rice and roti
Note: This curry is easily digestible and good when suffering with fever
