Carrot Puttu

Ingredients:
Carrot – 250 gms
Channa dal – 125 gms
Oil – 2 – 3 tbsp
Cumin seeds – 1tsp
Salt to taste
Ginger,garlic,chilli paste – 1tbsp
Masala powder (coriander – 2 tsp, cinnamon, cloves – 6, cardamom – 4)

Method:
*      Soak channa dal for 2 hours and drain the water completely
*      Grind the dal with salt, cumin seeds without adding water.
*      Add paste and powder to the dal mixture and mix well.
*      Peel and grate carrots.
*      Heat oil in kadai add cumin seeds, curry leaves and grated carrot.
*      Add salt, turmeric and cook in low flame till carrot becomes tender.
*      Add dal mixture and slowly fry until it becomes dry.
*      Serve with rice or roti.
