Ingredients:
Carrot – 250 gms
Channa dal – 125 gms
Oil – 2 – 3 tbsp
Cumin seeds – 1tsp
Salt to taste
Ginger,garlic,chilli paste – 1tbsp
Masala powder (coriander – 2 tsp, cinnamon, cloves – 6, cardamom – 4)
Method:
Soak channa dal for 2 hours and drain the water completely
Grind the dal with salt, cumin seeds without adding water.
Add paste and powder to the dal mixture and mix well.
Peel and grate carrots.
Heat oil in kadai add cumin seeds, curry leaves and grated carrot.
Add salt, turmeric and cook in low flame till carrot becomes tender.
Add dal mixture and slowly fry until it becomes dry.
Serve with rice or roti.
