Pumpkin curry (Gummadi Kaya Kura)


Ingredients:
Pumpkin - 1 small
onions - 2-3 no.'s
green chillies - 4
chilli powder - 11/2 tsp
jaggery - 1 tbsp
salt to taste
ginger garlic paste - 1tbsp
coriander powder - 1tsp
cumin powder - 1tsp
garam masala - 1tsp
oil - 2-3 tbsp
mustard seeds - 1tsp
cumin seeds - 1 tsp
curry leaves
turmeric - 1/2 tsp
Cinnamon - 1
Cloves -3


Method:


  • Peel and cut pumpkin into medium size pieces
  • chop onions and green chillies  into fine pieces
  • Heat oil in kadai add cumin seeds, mustard seeds and curry leaves
  • when mustard seeds crackles add chillies and onions fry for 5 minutes
  • add pumpkin pieces, salt, turmeric powder and chilli powder and cover with lid.
  • cook in medium flame for 10-15 minutes till pumpkin soften by adding half glass of water.
  • then add coriander powder , cumin powder, jaggery and garam masala
  • cook for another five minutes in low flame.
  • Serve with rice and rotis
