THOTAKURA PULUSU

Ingredients:
Thotakura - 1 big bunch
onions - 2
tomatoes - 4-5 no.'s
tamarind juice - 1tbsp
turmeric powder -1/2 tsp
green chillies - 3
garlic cloves - 4 chopped
dry red chillies - 2
chilli poder - 1tsp
salt to taste
oil - 2 tbsp
for talimpu: urad dal, channa dal - 1tsp each, mustard seeds, cumin seeds, fenugreek seeds - 1/2 tsp each and curry leaves


Method :


  • Wash and cut thotakura, onions, tomatoes and  green chillies
  • Heat oil in kadai add red chillies, garlic and talimpu ingredients
  • Then add onions and chillies fry for 5 minutes.
  • Add thotakura and tomatoes cook in low flame for 10 minutes by covering with lid
  • Add tamarind juice,chilli powder, turmeric and salt and some water
  • Cook untill the gravy thickens
  • Serve with rice
